Shermaine Perry
Shermaine Perry

Employee Development Specialist, Fulton County Government

Shermaine Perry is an employee development specialist with Fulton County Government, an organization that provides services to over one million residents. Shermaine is responsible for designing curriculum, project management, and providing strategic consultation to departmental leaders around learning and department needs. Her primary focus is developing curriculum for first-line supervisors and managers, but she also designs microlearning solutions to energize compliance training across the organization.

Shermaine obtained a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College and a master’s degree from Strayer University. In addition to obtaining her Associate Professional in Talent Development certification in 2018, Shermaine has achieved the Kirkpatrick Four Levels Evaluation Certification- Bronze Level. She has traveled throughout Asia and the West Indies, and she has lived and studied in Europe and the Middle East.


Kevin Rufty, APTD
Kevin Rufty, APTD

Director of Training, Clean Juice

Kevin Rufty is a Learning and Development thought leader, currently residing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kevin serves as the Learning and Development Manager at Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. Kevin is passionate about the intersection of Learning and Development and the hospitality industry, which is where he has spent the majority of his career. Prior to joining the Learning and Development field, he gained extensive restaurant operations knowledge through various Operations Management Roles.

In Kevin's current role, he is responsible for identifying training needs; designing, developing, implementing, and refining training systems, programs, and content for all levels of the organization; leading the New Restaurant Opening program and teams; ensuring the success of Managers In Training; authoring e-learning courses; and seeking innovative solutions to increase knowledge retention and impact. Kevin earned his Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) certification in 2017 and his Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) certification in 2019. Kevin is a member of the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) and actively contributes to organizations such as the National Restaurant Association and the Association for Talent Development.

In his spare time, you can find Kevin applying accelerated learning techniques to his golf game and enjoying time with his fiance and two cats.


Maggie Romanovich
Maggie Romanovich

Director L&D, Constellation Brands Inc.

Maggie is a passionate learning and development advocate and advisor, dedicated to fostering a culture of continuous learning, championing ongoing professional development, and committed to delivering holistic, best-in-class learning solutions that align business strategy & needs with professional development. She leads L&D effort for National Sales at Constellation Brands, the company behind the beer, wine and spirits brands that you love and have celebrated with for over 70 years. Maggie enables & empowers account managers through curriculum development, blended learning opportunities, onboarding and resourcing, and sales coaching.

An accidental trainer, Maggie’s been practicing TD at Constellation for 5 years after transitioning from media planning. She graduated from Columbia Collage Chicago with a BA in Communications & Radio. She earned her ATPD certification in 2017 as well as her Master Instructional Design certificate. She obtained her Workplace Learning & Professional Institute (WLPI) Certificate from the ATD Chicago Chapter in 2014.
