Aileen (Leen) Zaballero is a senior partner of Rothwell & Associates and a dual-title PhD candidate in workforce education and development and comparative international education at Pennsylvania State University. She has been a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) since 2009. Aileen is currently working on a project that will produce a competency model and career map for the advanced commercial building workforce, utilizing the U.S. Department of Labor's competency model framework and aligning with the new Department of Energy–supported and industry-developed Better Buildings Workforce Guidelines.
Aileen has recently authored and co-authored chapters in Performance Consulting—Applying Performance Improvement in Human Resource Development (2013, John Wiley & Sons); co-edited and co-authored Optimizing Talent in the Federal Workforce (2014, Management Concepts); co-authored a chapter in Organization Development Fundamentals: Managing Strategic Change (2014, ASTD Press); and co-edited The Competency Toolkit, 2nd Edition (2014, HRD Press).
William J. Rothwell, PhD, SPHR, is the president of Rothwell & Associates (www.rothwellandassociates.com) and professor in the workforce education and development program at the University Park campus of Penn State University. As a researcher, he has been involved with the last five competency studies conducted by ATD. In 2012 he won the association's prestigious Distinguished Contribution Award. He is the author of 81 books and 250 articles in the field and had 20 years of experience in government and the private sector before becoming a college professor in 1993.
Dr. Angela Stopper is the chief learning officer and director of learning and development at the University of California, Berkeley. She is responsible for the team who creates and delivers campus-wide learning initiatives supporting supervisory, management, functional, technical, and non-technical learning efforts for the campus’s 6,000+ staff and faculty administrators. In addition, her team is responsible for onboarding, re-boarding, and overall employee engagement programming, as well as all campus career and professional development programming.
In addition to her work at UC Berkeley, Dr. Stopper is a faculty member with Penn State World Campus, where she has developed and is teaching a course for the online Master of Professional Studies degree in Organization Development and Change titled Marketing Organization Development. Before UC Berkeley, Dr. Stopper was the director of program innovations and executive education at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management.
Jennifer is the VP, Community & Branding for ATD. She joined ATD (then ASTD) in 1999 to lead the Public Relations function. She continues to lead communication efforts to members and customers, the media, and public policy makers. She also leads ATD’s awards programs and governance functions.
In her volunteer work, Jennifer served a two-year term on the executive board of directors for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and was president of the IABC Washington, D.C. chapter. She holds IABC’s Accredited Business Communicator credential.
