Online and mobile anywhere/anytime learning options put personalized content and self-directed development in the hands of individuals. But leveraging those capabilities to become a lifelong learner is an active choice. What are organizations doing to encourage self-directed and lifelong learning? In this webcast, we will discuss findings from ATD and the Institute for Corporate Productivity's latest research which identified the practices that talent development functions at market-leading companies use to encourage lifelong learning, self-directed learning, and accountability.

Lifelong learning is the self-motivated, voluntary, ongoing pursuit of knowledge for personal or professional reasons. It may occur formally or informally, intentionally or incidentally.

Self-directed learning occurs when employees take control over their own learning by setting goals, deciding how they’ll learn (identifying appropriate content and resources and choosing their preferred learning methods), and evaluating their learning progress.
